SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA (December 31, 2012) – National pet supply retailer Petsense is proud to celebrate the conclusion of another successful year delivering quality pet supplies and services to small and mid-sized markets throughout the country.   Petsense opened 18 new locations and expanded into three new states in 2012, bringing the company’s total store count to 69.

Petsense President and CEO Bob Angstead remarked, “We are proud to be the pet destination in sixty-nine towns throughout the country.  With our friendly, knowledgeable associates leading the way, we are helping strengthen the bond between people and their pets. We will continue our growth in 2013 and are excited about what the future holds for our customers, associates, vendors, and stakeholders.”

Petsense‘s focus on employee growth and development paid dividends in 2012 as 11 of the 18 new store managers hired in 2012 were promoted from within. Vice-President of Store Operations Mary Wentland adds that, “Our greatest assets are our wonderful associates who deliver world class service to our customers on every shopping trip.  We were thrilled, but not surprised, that the majority of our 2012 new store managers came from within the organization.”

2013 will be the company’s largest year of store growth since its founding 7 years ago. With plans to open at least 20 new locations, Petsense will continue to deliver quality products and services to under-served markets throughout the country.
