SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA (July 23, 2012) – Petsense, a national pet care retail store, is expanding to historic Westerly, Rhode Island with the opening of their 61st location.  The new store will feature the area’s largest assortment of food, toys, treats, and accessories for dogs, cats, reptiles, small animals, birds, and aquatics. Petsense does not sell dogs or cats, instead choosing to partner with local animal welfare organizations and rescue groups to help find loving homes for animals in need.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to serve the citizens of Westerly and the surrounding areas,” said store manager Kevin Tripp, “Our associates are building a store that all of Westerly will be proud of. We look forward to providing excellent service and expert advice from day one.”

CEO Bob Angstead explained that the selection of Westerly is just the beginning of Petsense’s footprint in Rhode Island, “Customers have been shopping with us for more than six years at our Westbrook, Connecticut location, and we are excited to expand even further into New England.  It is very apparent that the citizens of Rhode Island and Connecticut love their pets and view them as family, and we are happy to help strengthen that bond through excellent service, selection, and pricing.”

Petsense will open to the public on August 8th, followed by a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting on August 11th at 9:00 AM. After cutting the ceremonial ribbon, customers will have the chance to win great prizes, participate in special events, and visit with loving pets looking for their new home through adoption.  In addition, the first 50 customers in the store after the ribbon cutting will receive a free mystery value gift certificate!

Petsense will be located in the Westerly Commons shopping center, at 143 Franklin Street, Suite J, in Westerly. For more information about Petsense or the upcoming grand opening celebration, visit PetsenseWesterly.com.

Nice selection of pet products. Very over priced. Manager rude and clueless.
